Mark and Katherine Fitz Mark has been involved in pastoral / church ministry for the last 20 years, most recently at Cedar Grove Church in Surrey, BC. Katherine has 15 years of experience as an ESL tutor. We have one child, Rachel, born in 2002. As a family we enjoy music, cycling and camping. As a result of two trips to Rwanda, we have been captured by suffering and courage of the Rwandese people. It is our desire to serve them through our giftings and life experience in any way God should chose to use us. We are embarking on a three year missions trip to Rwanda, with the aim of being on Rwandan soil by September, 2010. Our Purpose: To assist Elsie and Nicholas Hitimana bring healing, reconciliation and community transformation to their people. Our Focus: To provide spiritual care and food security for the widows and orphans who reside in the Village of Hope. Our Objective: To be students of the Rwandese language and culture. We wish to establish peer based rather than authoritarian relationships in the Village of Hope. Once we have a reasonable grasp of the language and world view of the people, we hope to train leaders to communicate Jesus Christ’s message of love, healing and reconciliation within the local village and surrounding areas. We also intend to establish food security through planting gardens and raising chickens in the Village of Hope.
